Home About Sun Earth Our Achievements
Our Achievements

Sun-Earth began life in 1966 as a semiconductor pioneer, manufacturing silicon ingots for military technology in Ningbo, China.  By 1978, Sun Earth had produced the first solar cells and panels in China.  By 1999, Sun-Earth had established a multicrystalline ingot manufacturing facility in the Ningbo Free Trade Zone.  By 2000, Sun-Earth had gained 80% of China’s domestic market.  In 2004, Sun-Earth ramped up exports to Europe, including the installation of a number of utility-scale solar arrays.  By 2005, Sun-Earth had gained certifications in UL, CEC, TUV, ISO 19001, and IEC.  By 2009, we reached our target of  annual PV capacity reached 350 MW.

Now, with the confidence inspired through our long experience and 25 year warrantee, over half of Sun-Earth’s customers have continued to partner with us, for more than 10 years.

Our Achievements

·    Since 2000, Sun-Earth has gained over 80% of the Chinese domestic solar market.

·    Today, Sun-Earth provides solar panels for more than 80% of Chinese telecommunications plants, with major customers.

·    More than 30% of the solar portable stations in Africa are supplied by Sun-Earth.

·    Sun-Earth’s 20-year old solar applications in China’s telecommunications, forestry protection and sea navigation industries are still going strong today.

·    According to survey results by PHOTON magazine, Sun-Earth has over 5% of the total solar panel market share in Germany.

·    Sun-Earth has achieved numerous collaborations in Spain, including a solar array project in Almeria with a total of 24 MW, the largest array in the world at that time.

·    Our projects include off-grid remote applications in rural areas, military applications, grid tied city lighting projects, street light powering, oil field applications, back up power systems for railroads telecommunications and traffic systems.
